Hype Begins for Oxygen’s “Preachers of Detroit”

Oxygen has scheduled two hour-long specials to spread the gospel of its new series “Preachers of Detroit.”

The cable show following the lives of some of Detroit’s leading pastors is set to debut at 8 p.m. Feb. 20.

Oxygen announced Tuesday that it’s running a special on “Preachers of L.A.” star Deitrick Haddon’s trip back to his Motor City hometown to mend family rifts.

“Preachers of L.A.: Deitrick Goes Home” will air at 8 p.m. Feb. 6.

A week later, another special will introduce the cast of the new Detroit spin-off.

“Preachers of Detroit: Meet the Preachers” runs at 8 p.m. Feb. 13 and features Bishop Charles Ellis III, Bishop Corletta Vaughn, Pastor Tim Alden, Pastor David Bullock, Bishop-Elect Clarence Langston, Pastor Don William Shelby Jr. and Evangelist Dorinda Clark-Cole.

It also will cover Haddon’s effort to produce a song and video in support of the people of Detroit.
