Welcome to The Prophet Daniel’s Report. This is report #512. My name is Daniel Whyte III here to remind you that Jesus Christ is coming back soon and that you need to be prepared. This broadcast is not about predictions, nor is it about setting dates as some foolishly have done, however it is all about preparation.
First, today, let’s look at some Signs of His Coming in the news.
The disciples asked Jesus in Matthew 24:3, “What shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?” Jesus Christ then went on to give them (and us) clear signs that show us when we can begin to expect to see the coming of the Lord and the end of the world. Those signs include:
1. the appearance of false Christs and false prophets
2. wars and rumors of wars
4. pestilences (fatal epidemic diseases)
5. earthquakes in divers (various) places
6. increased persecution of believers
7. the Gospel being preached in all the world
8. signs and great wonders in the heavens (involving the sun, moon, stars, and planetary movements)
9. distress and perplexity among people
10. increased violence “as in the days of Noah”
11. increased homosexuality and sexual immorality “as it was in the days of Lot”
12. the rise of “Gog and Magog” (which many Bible scholars believe refers to Russia)
13. the rise of the “kings of the east” (which many Bible scholars believe refers to China)
14. increase in knowledge (science and technology)
15. apostasy in the church
16. interest in a unified world government to bring about global peace
17. interest in the rebuilding of the Temple in Jerusalem
The Bible also speaks of other signs which will be evident in “perilous times” in Second Timothy 3. Those signs are people being:
23. disobedient to parents
26. without natural affection
28. false accusers
31. despisers of those that are good
35. lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God
36. having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof.
Other signs of the times which have been gleaned from Scripture include:
37. scoffers who mock of Christ’s return
38. movement toward a one-world religion
39. outpouring of the Holy Spirit
40. outbreak of demonic and occultic activity
41. re-establishment of Israel
42. Arab hostility toward Israel
43. re-unification of Europe
44. movement toward a one-world economy
Looking at world events through the lens of the Word of God, let’s look at some headlines from today’s news that point to the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.
First, today, under the Sign category of WARS & RUMORS OF WARS — According to Reuters, a senior American general said Russia is working to develop within a few years the capability to threaten several neighbors at once on the scale of its present operation in Ukraine. Lieutenant-General Ben Hodges, commander of U.S. Army forces in Europe, said an attack on another neighbor does not seem like an immediate threat because Moscow appears to have its hands full in Ukraine for now. But that could change within a few years, when upgrades sought by President Vladimir Putin would give Russia the ability to carry out up to three such operations at the same time, without a mobilization that would give the West time to respond.
Second, today, under the Sign category of DISTRESS AMONG NATIONS — According to the Los Angeles Times, President Obama vowed on Friday to stop any attempt by Congress to ratchet up sanctions against Iran while the U.S. and partner countries negotiate over its nuclear program. Obama also warned lawmakers that they would be responsible if a sanctions drive were to lead to the collapse of the ongoing talks. He said a diplomatic failure could even lead to a war, which “Congress will have to own” if it passes a new sanctions bill. Obama’s language and forceful tone marked a sharp intensification of the White House effort to preserve the prospect of a deal with Iran and signaled deep anxieties about Congress’ plans.
Third, today, under the Sign category of THE TURMOIL IN ISRAEL & THE MIDDLE EAST — According to the Associated Press, Afghanistan and Pakistan face a new, emerging threat from the Islamic State group. Disenchanted extremists from the Taliban and other organizations, impressed by the Islamic State’s territorial gains and slick online propaganda, have begun raising its black flag in extremist-dominated areas of both countries. Analysts and officials say the number of ISIS supporters in the Afghan-Pakistan region remains small and that the group faces resistance from militants with strong tribal links. However, the rise of even a small Islamic State affiliate could further destabilize the region and complicate U.S. and NATO efforts to end the 13-year Afghan war.
Fourth, today, under the Sign category of WARS & RUMORS OF WARS — According to Reuters, Ukrainian troops launched a “mass operation” to retake almost all the territory of Donetsk airport in eastern Ukraine lost to separatists in recent weeks. The army’s offensive at the airport brought the fighting close to the city of Donetsk itself, the center of a pro-Russian separatist rebellion. A military spokesman said the operation had returned the battle lines near the airport to the previous status quo and that the Ukrainian army had thus not violated the 12-point peace plan agreed upon with Russia and separatist leaders last September.
Fifth, today, under the Sign category of THE TURMOIL IN ISRAEL & THE MIDDLE EAST — According to the Jerusalem Post, the International Criminal Court prosecutor has initiated a preliminary probe into whether the Israeli military committed war crimes during the recent Gaza war and, more seriously, declared definitively that Palestine is a state for the purpose of such an investigation. The declaration of “Palestine” as a state is the most serious escalation toward possible war crimes trials of Israeli military personnel and Israeli leaders the country has yet faced. However, the prosecutor’s decision does not mean actual war crimes trials are imminent.
The Bible says in Matthew 24:14: “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”

Now, it’s time for Prophecy Bootcamp.
Prophecy Bootcamp is where we deal with the basics of prophecy, the Second Coming of Christ, and what will happen in the future according to the Bible. Our aim here is not to make predictions but to help you get prepared by understanding how things will unfold in the end times.
Our topic for today is titled “The Final Victory” (Part 1) from Dr. Ed Hindson’s book “Revelation: Unlocking the Future”.
The triumph of Revelation is stated in these words: “Behold, I am alive for evermore.” John explains that he had been exiled to the island of Patmos “because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ.” Patmos was the Al-ca-traz of the ancient world. It was an isolated place from which there was no escape. There on the rocky promontory (ten miles long and six miles wide), the aged apostle met the risen Savior face-to-face. John explains that he was “in the Spirit” on the Lord’s Day (Sunday) when the Savior appeared to him. The phase “in the Spirit” is an explanation of an out-of-the-body “trance.” John never slept during this experience; thus, it was a vision, not a dream. Robert L. Thomas explains it as “the ecstatic condition into which God placed John for the sake of granting him the revelations of this book.”
John heard the Master’s voice and turned to see who it was. As he turned, he saw seven golden lampstands — probably in the shape of a Jewish menorah. These were representative of the seven churches to which the book is addressed. In the middle of the lampstands, he saw the Son of man dressed in the high priestly garments — the floor-length white robe with the golden sash. The rest of the description of the risen Savior is symbolic of His Shekinah glory and deity and follows a sevenfold pattern:
1. His hair was white like wool
2. His eyes were like flames of fire
3. His feet were like burnished bronze
4. His voice was like the sound of many waters
5. His right hand held seven stars
6. Out of his mouth came a sharp two-edged sword
7. His face was shining like the sun
David Hocking writes, “This is no ordinary look at the man we know from the gospels as Jesus Christ. To say that His appearance is unique is also an understatement: it is supernatural, a glorious description that could be given to God alone.” The grandeur of this description points to the majesty, purity, and authority of the One described. This is the risen Savior. This is the glorified Christ. This is the coming King!
Lord willing, we will continue looking at this topic on our next broadcast/podcast.
In closing, let’s consider what God wants you and me to do in light of His Second Coming.
Jesus Christ said in Luke 19:13 to “Occupy till I come.” In light of that, we are continuing our Bible study series on the books of First & Second Thessalonians which Paul wrote to believers who had concerns about the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, and what they should do as they waited. This section is titled “Living Like a Christian (Part 1)” from the book “Waiting on the Second Coming” by Ray C. Stedman.
Once I heard a man say, “The most important thing in learning to relate to others is personal honesty. Once you learn to fake that,” he added, “everything else is easy!” Many people, unfortunately, seem to follow that philosophy. As a result, we are seeing not only the moral collapse of our leaders, but a low level of ethical behavior on the part of many Christians.
I do not understand what has happened to the Christian community in this regard. Believers who go to church regularly and profess to believe the Bible seem to be going along with practices of the world around them, apparently unaware or unconcerned that what they are doing is unbiblical and sinful. They lie without hesitation. They don’t pay their bills. They cheat on their taxes. They ignore needy people. They fail to keep appointments. They freeload shamelessly. They lose their tempers. They grow critical and caustic. They desert their mates. If the apostle Paul were here, he would be very concerned about this. To him, the mark of true Christian faith was its ability to change everything — to affect every area of life. A Christian may no longer act as he or she did before coming to Christ. This is very clear in the letters of the apostle. Every letter he wrote ends with pointed, practical applications of the truth he has set out.
This first letter to the Thessalonians is no exception. The closing verses of chapter 5 are wonderfully practical guidelines on how to live like a Christian.
If the Lord tarries His coming and we live, we will continue looking at this topic in our next broadcast/podcast.
Remember the words of the Lord in Matthew 24:42: “Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.” Matthew 24:44 says, “Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.”
If you are not ready for the return of Jesus Christ, may I encourage you to get ready today by receiving Him as your Savior. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Just believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and rose from the dead by the power of God for you so that you can live eternally with Him. Pray and ask Him to come into your heart today, and He will. Romans 10:13 says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Keep looking up for your redemption draweth nigh. Let us join in the prayer of John the Revelator — “Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” God bless you.
