Welcome to The Prophet Daniel’s Report. This is report #511. My name is Daniel Whyte III here to remind you that Jesus Christ is coming back soon and that you need to be prepared. This broadcast is not about predictions, nor is it about setting dates as some foolishly have done, however it is all about preparation.

First, today, let’s look at some Signs of His Coming in the news.

The disciples asked Jesus in Matthew 24:3, “What shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?” Jesus Christ then went on to give them (and us) clear signs that show us when we can begin to expect to see the coming of the Lord and the end of the world. Those signs include:

1. the appearance of false Christs and false prophets
2. wars and rumors of wars
3. famines
4. pestilences (fatal epidemic diseases)
5. earthquakes in divers (various) places
6. increased persecution of believers
7. the Gospel being preached in all the world
8. signs and great wonders in the heavens (involving the sun, moon, stars, and planetary movements)
9. distress and perplexity among people
10. increased violence “as in the days of Noah”
11. increased homosexuality and sexual immorality “as it was in the days of Lot”
12. the rise of “Gog and Magog” (which many Bible scholars believe refers to Russia)
13. the rise of the “kings of the east” (which many Bible scholars believe refers to China)
14. increase in knowledge (science and technology)
15. apostasy in the church
16. interest in a unified world government to bring about global peace
17. interest in the rebuilding of the Temple in Jerusalem

The Bible also speaks of other signs which will be evident in “perilous times” in Second Timothy 3. Those signs are people being:

18. selfish
19. covetous
20. boasters
21. proud
22. blasphemers
23. disobedient to parents
24. unthankful
25. unholy
26. without natural affection
27. trucebreakers
28. false accusers
29. incontinent
30. fierce
31. despisers of those that are good
32. traitors
33. heady
34. high-minded
35. lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God
36. having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof.

Other signs of the times which have been gleaned from Scripture include:
37. scoffers who mock of Christ’s return
38. movement toward a one-world religion
39. outpouring of the Holy Spirit
40. outbreak of demonic and occultic activity
41. re-establishment of Israel
42. Arab hostility toward Israel
43. re-unification of Europe
44. movement toward a one-world economy

Looking at world events through the lens of the Word of God, let’s look at some headlines from today’s news that point to the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.

First, today, under the Sign category of DISTRESS AMONG NATIONS — According to CNN, a terror cell on the brink of carrying out an attack was the target of a raid that left two suspects dead in Belgium on Thursday. A third suspect was injured and taken into custody. A Western Intelligence source says that the ongoing terror threat appears to involve up to 20 sleeper cells of between 120 to 180 people ready to strike in France, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands. European Union and Middle East intelligence agencies identified an “imminent threat” to Belgium, possibly also to the Netherlands.

Second, today, under the Sign category of DISTRESS AMONG NATIONS — According to The Associated Press, the EU parliament on Thursday condemned Russia as a “potential threat to the European Union itself” even as the EU foreign policy chief sought to resume dialogue with Moscow to help end the conflict in Ukraine. The legislature backed a resolution with a show of hands that called for a continuation of the sanctions against Moscow even beyond March, when the first measures will be up for review. At the same time, the parliament called for diplomatic channels to remain open.

Third, today, under the Sign category of THE TURMOIL IN ISRAEL & THE MIDDLE EAST — According to Ynet News, Hez-boll-ah chief Has-san Nas-ral-lah warned that “Hez-boll-ah is ready and prepared for a confrontation in the Galilee and beyond the Galilee.” He said, “We are prepared for all that a war with Israel necessitates” and added that “We have weapons that can bring us a victory against any type of Israeli aggression.”

Fourth, today, under the Sign category of THE TURMOIL IN ISRAEL & THE MIDDLE EAST — According to Israel Today news, the outgoing head of the Israeli Military’s Intelligence research division says that the Syrian government is still using chemical weapons and that Israeli officials are ‘expecting the mess in the Middle East to continue in 2015,.’ Brig. Gen. Itai Brun (IT-EYE BRUN) said, “In the end, Bashar Assad has in fact been using chemical weapons on his people throughout all of last year. He uses them on his own population, and to us it seems very natural that terrorist organizations will get their hands on these kinds of weapons, or that they will be transferred to Hez-boll-ah. It may not pose a strategic threat to the [Israeli] homefront, but it is certainly a threat to the [Israeli military].”

Fifth, today, under the Sign category of DISEASE & EPIDEMICS — According to the Associated Press, This year’s flu vaccine is doing a pretty terrible job. A government study released Thursday revealed that It is only 23 percent effective, which is one of the worst performances in the last decade. The poor showing is primarily because the vaccine doesn’t include the bug that is making most people sick. In the last decade, flu vaccines at their best were 50 to 60 percent effective. This year’s vaccine formula didn’t include the strain of H3N2 virus that ended up causing about two-thirds of the illnesses this winter which led to more hospitalizations and deaths

The Bible says in Matthew 24:12-13: “Because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.”

Now, it’s time for Prophecy Bootcamp.

Prophecy Bootcamp is where we deal with the basics of prophecy, the Second Coming of Christ, and what will happen in the future according to the Bible. Our aim here is not to make predictions but to help you get prepared by understanding how things will unfold in the end times.

Our topic for today is titled “The King is Coming” from Dr. Ed Hindson’s book “Revelation: Unlocking the Future”.

John states the theme of the Revelation in another triplet. He points to the imminent return of Christ as the basic theme of the entire book: “Behold, he is coming with the clouds.” Then he adds the triplet:

1. And every eye will see Him
2. Even those who pierced Him
3. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn over Him

The promise is one of future triumph. The Savior is ultimately coming to take over the earth. He will not return as the lowly servant, humble shepherd, or rejected prophet. This time He will return as King of kings, and the whole world will know it. The focus here is on the final aspect of His return in judgment on an unbelieving world. Then, and only then, will the apostle Paul’s words be fulfilled: “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow… and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.“

John the revelator states the theme of the book in Revelation 1:7, and Christ, the source of the Revelation, repeats it in Revelation 1:8. “I am the Alpha and the Omega” refers to the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet (like A and Z in English). Thus, Christ is both the beginning and the ending. In Him, all things were created, and in Him all things will be consummated. The Savior is then described as the Lord who: is, was, and is to come.

He is the eternal Son of God. Like the Father, he always was, He is, and He always will be. The emphasis, however, is on the present tense and focuses on the eternal presence of God. He is the ever-present One: “I am that I am.” Since all things are present to the mind of God, He sees the end from the beginning as though it were already happening. Thus, He can disclose the future to John in the visions of the Apocalypse.

Lord willing, we will continue looking at this topic on our next broadcast/podcast.

In closing, let’s consider what God wants you and me to do in light of His Second Coming.

Jesus Christ said in Luke 19:13 to “Occupy till I come.” In light of that, we are continuing our Bible study series on the books of First & Second Thessalonians which Paul wrote to believers who had concerns about the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, and what they should do as they waited. This section is titled “The Fate of the Earth (Part 10)” from the book “Waiting on the Second Coming” by Ray C. Stedman.

As we learn what is coming in world affairs, we can understand that the hope of the believer is to be with Christ. We have given our hearts to Him already, and He will claim us — body, soul, and spirit — on that day.

What should be the result in our lives? Paul gives some down-to-earth advice on how to live in this present day.

Wake Up!

The apostle stirs us from our apathy and from fantasies and dreams such as the world dreams. Our purpose for living is not to gain wealth and fame, to be self-centered, but to use our abilities and time to fulfill the will of God. We are to find the adventure, excitement, and drama inherent in His call rather than to waste time in self-indulgence. “Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.”

Get Serious!

When Paul suggests that we “be self-controlled,” he is not saying we must be grim and humorless, that we must forget all rest and recreation. He is simply urging us to take life more seriously. Do not spend your time amusing yourself constantly. As the apostle puts it in Ephesians 5:15-16: be “wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.” Take advantage of the contacts you have with people to help them, to reach out to them. Love, support, encourage, and minister to one another.

And finally, we are to “encourage one another and build each other up.” It is so easy to lose sight of God’s perspective. In a world that shoves God off to the side and is forever caught up in the things of the moment, it is easy to think that life ought always to be beautiful and wonderful. It is so easy to slip into the worldly attitude that protests in the face of trial, “Why me? What have I done to deserve this?”

We need to encourage one another and help one another to understand that no job is insignificant when done “as unto the Lord.” No task is meaningless when it involves reaching out in love to someone else. God is not forgetful of our labors of love.

If the Lord tarries His coming and we live, we will continue looking at this topic in our next broadcast/podcast.
……..
CLOSING PRAYER
…….

Remember the words of the Lord in Matthew 24:42: “Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.” Matthew 24:44 says, “Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.”

If you are not ready for the return of Jesus Christ, may I encourage you to get ready today by receiving Him as your Savior. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Just believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and rose from the dead by the power of God for you so that you can live eternally with Him. Pray and ask Him to come into your heart today, and He will. Romans 10:13 says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Keep looking up for your redemption draweth nigh. Let us join in the prayer of John the Revelator — “Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” God bless you.
