Welcome to The Prophet Daniel’s Report. This is report #509. My name is Daniel Whyte III here to remind you that Jesus Christ is coming back soon and that you need to be prepared. This broadcast is not about predictions, nor is it about setting dates as some foolishly have done, however it is all about preparation.

First, today, let’s look at some Signs of His Coming in the news.

The disciples asked Jesus in Matthew 24:3, “What shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?” Jesus Christ then went on to give them (and us) clear signs that show us when we can begin to expect to see the coming of the Lord and the end of the world. Those signs include:

1. the appearance of false Christs and false prophets
2. wars and rumors of wars
3. famines
4. pestilences (fatal epidemic diseases)
5. earthquakes in divers (various) places
6. increased persecution of believers
7. the Gospel being preached in all the world
8. signs and great wonders in the heavens (involving the sun, moon, stars, and planetary movements)
9. distress and perplexity among people
10. increased violence “as in the days of Noah”
11. increased homosexuality and sexual immorality “as it was in the days of Lot”
12. the rise of “Gog and Magog” (which many Bible scholars believe refers to Russia)
13. the rise of the “kings of the east” (which many Bible scholars believe refers to China)
14. increase in knowledge (science and technology)
15. apostasy in the church
16. interest in a unified world government to bring about global peace
17. interest in the rebuilding of the Temple in Jerusalem

The Bible also speaks of other signs which will be evident in “perilous times” in Second Timothy 3. Those signs are people being:

18. selfish
19. covetous
20. boasters
21. proud
22. blasphemers
23. disobedient to parents
24. unthankful
25. unholy
26. without natural affection
27. trucebreakers
28. false accusers
29. incontinent
30. fierce
31. despisers of those that are good
32. traitors
33. heady
34. high-minded
35. lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God
36. having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof.

Other signs of the times which have been gleaned from Scripture include:
37. scoffers who mock of Christ’s return
38. movement toward a one-world religion
39. outpouring of the Holy Spirit
40. outbreak of demonic and occultic activity
41. re-establishment of Israel
42. Arab hostility toward Israel
43. re-unification of Europe
44. movement toward a one-world economy

Looking at world events through the lens of the Word of God, let’s look at some headlines from today’s news that point to the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.

First, today, under the Sign category of THE TURMOIL IN ISRAEL & THE MIDDLE EAST — According to Israel National News, Intelligence suggests that Syrian President Bashar Assad is building a secret underground plant with the aim of developing nuclear weapons. Citing information made available by unidentified intelligence sources, Germany’s Spiegel newsmagazine said the plant was in an inaccessible mountain region in the west of the war-ravaged country, two kilometers (1.2 miles) from the Lebanese border. Western experts suspect that a reactor or an enrichment plant could be the aim of the project.

Second, today, under the Sign category of WARS & RUMORS OF WARS — According to The Washington Times, the Islamic State has taken responsibility for the terror attacks in Paris and vowed that Great Britain and America are next. In a sermon in Mosul, an Iraqi city now under the control of the Islamic State, cleric Abu Saad al-Ansari said, “We started with the France operation for which we take responsibility.” He went on to say, “Tomorrow will be in Britain, America and others.” He added that his warning was “to all countries participating in the [U.S.-led] coalition that has killed Islamic State members.”

Third, today, under the Sign category of THE TURMOIL IN ISRAEL & THE MIDDLE EAST — According to The Washington Free Beacon, Iranian officials are touting the efficiency of a new national missile defense system that has been dubbed Iran’s “real Iron Dome,” a reference to the joint U.S.-Israeli missile shield that protects the Jewish state from incoming terrorist rockets. Tehran also has begun to mass-produce its own fighter jets, as well as suicide combat drones and what it dubbed “the world’s first missile evading drone.” Iran first revealed in August that it was gearing up to deploy a mid-range and long-range missile defense system similar to Israel’s Iron Dome. That system is now said to have been activated, according to Iranian officials.

Fourth, today, under the Sign category of THE TURMOIL IN ISRAEL & THE MIDDLE EAST — According to the Washington Post, Frustrated by the failure of U.S.-brokered peace talks and under growing pressure from his people to confront Israel, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas is launching diplomatic war against Israel, betting on a risky campaign to fully “internationalize the struggle” by moving toward the United Nations and away from the United States. As part of this strategy, which the Israelis have dubbed a “diplomatic intifada,” the Palestinians are seeking support for statehood from the international community via resolutions at the United Nations and in European parliaments calling for the end of Israeli occupation within two years and the establishment of a Palestinian state. The stated goal is to embarrass, anger and isolate Israel, and thereby pressure ordinary Israelis to push their government to make a peace deal with the Palestinians.

Fifth, today, under the Sign category of DISTRESS AMONG NATIONS — According to CNN, French law enforcement officers have been told to erase their social media presence and to carry their weapons at all times because terror sleeper cells have been activated in recent days in the country. The suspect killed Friday during a deadly kosher market hostage siege, had made several phone calls about targeting police officers in France.

The Bible says in Matthew 24:6: “And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all [these things] must come to pass, but the end is not yet.”

Now, it’s time for Prophecy Bootcamp.

Prophecy Bootcamp is where we deal with the basics of prophecy, the Second Coming of Christ, and what will happen in the future according to the Bible. Our aim here is not to make predictions but to help you get prepared by understanding how things will unfold in the end times.

Our topic for today is titled “The Great Unveiling (Part 2)” from Dr. Ed Hindson’s book “Revelation: Unlocking the Future”.

A key term in Revelation is “blessed is he.” John adds another triplet as he announces the first of seven beatitudes that appear throughout the book. This one reads, “Blessed is:

1. he who reads
2. and those who hear the words of the prophecy,
3. and heed the things which are written in it; for the time is near.”

The scope of this promise covers the entire book, which is described as a “prophecy.” The Revelation thus describes itself as a prophetic book. It promises a three-fold blessing to those who read it, hear it, and keep it. This emphasis reminds us that the purpose of reading or hearing the Word of God is that we might obey it.

There are seven beatitudes (blessings) scattered throughout this amazing book. They are part of the unique “a-rith-ma-logue” [A-RITH-MA-LOG] structure of the book. The beatitudes are:

1. Revelation 1:3: “Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.”

2. Revelation 14:13: “Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth:”

3. Revelation 16:15: “Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.”

4. Revelation 19:9: “Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb.”

5. Revelation 20:6: “Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection”

6. Revelation 22:7: “Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.”

7. Revelation 22:14: “Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.”

There are no dates set in the Revelation! No matter what anyone tried to read into the text of this prophecy, there are no specific time indicators of when it will be fulfilled. The only indication of time is the phrase, “the time is near.” This may be translated “near” or “soon.” Taken with the phrase “must shortly take place” in verse 1, the reader is left expecting the imminent return of Christ.

Lord willing, we will continue looking at this topic on our next broadcast/podcast.

In closing, let’s consider what God wants you and me to do in light of His Second Coming.

Jesus Christ said in Luke 19:13 to “Occupy till I come.” In light of that, we are continuing our Bible study series on the books of First & Second Thessalonians which Paul wrote to believers who had concerns about the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, and what they should do as they waited. This section is titled “The Fate of the Earth (Part 8)” from the book “Waiting on the Second Coming” by Ray C. Stedman.

After a terrible picture of gloom and darkness, 1 Thessalonians 5:4 turns another corner. It too begins with the word but. “But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.”

“You shouldn’t be caught by surprise,” Paul was saying. “There is good news for all believers. We have been enlightened about the escape route — our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us.” Our only hope, then, is to turn to the Lord and rely upon His death and resurrection. That is what Paul calls becoming a child of light and not of darkness. In his letter to the Colossians, he echoes this truth: “He hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son.”

Also we have been given knowledge and truth. The Word of God tells us exactly what will happen and confirms it by the prophecies that have been fulfilled through the centuries. In this connection I often think of that wonderful promise in the third chapter of Revelation, given to the church of Philadelphia: “Since you have kept my command to endure patiently [i.e., you have begun to run your life according to my Word], I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come upon the whole world to test those who live on the earth.”

For this reason Paul could say, “God did not appoint us to suffer wrath,” If we trust in the Lord Jesus, if we have been born again by the Spirit, if we believe His Word and are growing by it, we are not destined for wrath but are guaranteed an escape from this terrible time of judgment, just as Noah and Lot escaped the judgments that fell in their day.

If the Lord tarries His coming and we live, we will continue looking at this topic in our next broadcast/podcast.

Remember the words of the Lord in Matthew 24:42: “Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.” Matthew 24:44 says, “Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.”

If you are not ready for the return of Jesus Christ, may I encourage you to get ready today by receiving Him as your Savior. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Just believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, and rose from the dead by the power of God for you so that you can live eternally with Him. Pray and ask Him to come into your heart today, and He will. Romans 10:13 says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Keep looking up for your redemption draweth nigh. Let us join in the prayer of John the Revelator — “Even so, come, Lord Jesus.” God bless you.
