2 NYPD Officers Shot and Injured in Bronx, New York

Federal Judge Rules NYPD's Stop-and-Frisk Practice Violates Rights

Two police officers were shot in the Fordham section of the Bronx Monday night.

It happened at E. 184th Street and Tiebout Avenue. The officers were apparently responding to a call about a robbery at the time of the shooting.

The officers attempted to pull over the suspect’s vehicle but the driver refused to stop. The rental vehicle crashed, and police say the suspect got out and opened fire on officers, and then ran away.

A revolver was recovered at the scene.

One officer was shot in the arm, and the other officer was shot in the back.

The officers were rushed to St. Barnabas Hospital. Their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Police are still searching for the suspect.
