When Sherri Shepherd, former co-host of ABC’s “The View,” revealed that God told her to leave the show, some thought it might hurt her business.
But her weekend appearance on QVC showed how unfounded those worries were.
“Back from a sell-out night of my #wigs,” tweeted the 47-year-old after promoting new styles from her LUXHAIR NOW collection. A slew of orders exceeded executives’ previous projections of sales from the hair line launched in 2013.
Industry professionals frequently recommend high profile appearances to boost the businesses of entertainment professionals—something Shepherd once had with her permanent role on “The View”.
But, according to her, it was time to move forward.
“When they started the negotiations with me, I’m a very spiritual person and I really believe that God said it was time to go. He said, ‘It was seven years and you’ve gotten everything you can get,’” she explained during a recent interview on Power 105.1 FM’s “The Breakfast Club”.
“When I said to everybody I’m not going to come back, they went crazy, because they were like ‘This is ‘The View’. This is the number one talk show. You get to be seen every day. You’ve got your wig line. You have opportunities,’” she shared.
