Mom-to-Be Looks Forward to New Traditions, Wants Children to Know “Mom Always Tried”
Whether it be midnight mass, a special holiday dinner or, in my family, eating Mexican food followed by the Griswold’s family Christmas — traditions are traditions. So, when Carrie Underwood recently stopped by CMT to chat about her latest musical project, Greatest Hits: Decade #1, I was curious to find out a few of her thoughts about the holidays.
“We’re going to have to make some family traditions,” she said smiling at the thought. “My family never really stuck to the same things. We never really had the traditions that we always did.”
Looking ahead to the future, balancing a busy career and family is at the top of her to-do list as she and her husband, Nashville Predators hockey player Mike Fisher, plan for her first child — a son — to arrive next year.
“That’s something that has definitely been on both of our minds,” she said. “We are just crazy. Our lives are weird, you know? They’re awesome, and we’re so blessed, but we’re coming and going and all that stuff, so we’re definitely going to have to reevaluate everything and just make time, make room and make that a priority.”
