Man in Wheelchair Attacked and Robbed in Wilimington, North Carolina

Officers say a man confined to a wheelchair was assaulted and robbed in Wilmington around 3:00 Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Wilmington Police Department, the 55-year-old man was near N. 15th and Princess streets when he was approached by a man with a handgun who was demanding money.

The victim said he didn’t have any, then the suspect hit the man on the side of the head with his hand and took a bag that had some cash and prescription medication inside.

Police say the suspect was last seen running south across Market Street on S. 15th Street.
