On November 27, T.D. Jakes led the Potter’s House Church of Dallas in their annual Thanksgiving Harvest Day service.
He told the audience and those watching online, “You have an obligation to open up your mouth and praise the Lord! It’s not about you it’s about God, it’s a sacrifice!… We need to appreciate things that we take for granted, like the fact that we are able to breathe!”
Jakes encouraged attendees to be more about giving than getting saying, “If you would give what you want, you will get what you need! Give out of your loneliness, out of your depression!”
He also delivered several powerful statements on gratitude. Including, “Gratefulness is different than praise, gratitude is an attitude, how you process where you are in life.” And, “If you are not grateful in your heart, your grumbling closes up the womb of your blessings!” As well as, “To be grateful is to see your assets and not your liabilities, God is drawn to you!”
Looking toward the New Year, Jakes encouraged members to shake themselves loose from the bad habits of the past and get ready to fulfill God’s plan for them in the future. He said, “We must seek God for our predestined purpose and make our decisions line up with His will.”
The Potter’s House also held an observance of Communion.
