Police in Austin, Texas opened fire on a suspected gunman this morning after the man fired a gun at city buildings, the Austin Police Department said.
The man’s condition is unknown following the police-involved shooting, Austin police said. No police officers were injured, but Austin’s Police Department headquarters was evacuated due to the incident, authorities said.
A major area highway, Interstate 35, was also shut down, police said. Numerous emergency vehicles were visible in the area.
