The Cecil Murray Center for Community Engagement and the California Endowment are joining with local churches to encourage congregants to take advantage of health care options offered through the Affordable Care Act (ACA), also known as Obama Care.
ACA is designed to provide affordable health insurance to all Americans. The open enrollment period began on November 15 and will close on February 15, 2015.
“We want to remind residents of California that it costs nothing to enroll for Obama Care. With health costs rising, it is critical for so many of our church family members who don’t have health insurance to enroll,” said the Rev. Dr. Cecil ‘Chip’ Murray.
“We urge everyone to visit the Covered California portal today at http://www.coveredca.com to find local help and to enroll,” added the Rev. Dr. D. Najuma Smith-Pollard, CMCCE program manager.
