Four people were found dead and another was injured in a Sisseton home Saturday morning after an apparent murder-suicide, authorities said.
The shooter, Colter Richard Arbach, 22, was among the dead found by local law enforcement. Authorities initially thought he was at large.
Arbach is thought to have shot the four people before taking his own life. Division of Criminal Investigation spokeswoman Sara Rabern could not comment on what led authorities to believe Arbach was the shooter.
Authorities are searching for several other individuals who might have been at the scene of the shooting.
“We believe there were other people at the scene,” Rabern said.
Dan Ellis, CEO of Coteau Des Prairies Hospital and Clinics in Sisseton, said the surviving victim was treated and stabilized in the emergency room. She was then flown to Sanford Hospital in Fargo.
“She was stable when she left for the hospital,” Ellis said.
