Tyson told the Opie Radio show he was taken off the street and sexually abused when he was 7-years-old. ‘I’m not embarrassed or ashamed of anything,’ the former champ added.
Boxing champ Mike Tyson revealed that he was sexually assaulted by a stranger when he was a child.
Tyson opened up about the experience on SiriusXM’s Opie Radio show Wednesday, recalling how he was briefly kidnapped by a man he didn’t know.
“I was a little kid, 7,” Tyson told co-host Jim Norton. “Old man, yea.”
“Was it one time or ongoing?” Norton asked.
“No, one time,” Tyson said. “Never seen him again….snatched me off the street.”
“He abused you and just let you go or did you escape?” Norton said.
“Well, I ran,” Tyson said.
The admission appeared to catch Norton and the other two hosts, Opie Hughes and Dan Soder, off guard.
The trio sat in silence for a few moments — “Awkward,” Hughes nervously mumbled — before continuing on with a conversation about depression and emotional turmoil.
