Apple Pay Launching October 20 in U.S.

Leading up to today’s major Apple iPad event, a number of stories cropped up hinting that Apple’s new mobile payments system might be available as early as this weekend.

All that speculation has finally been put to rest after Apple revealed on Thursday that Apple Pay will officially be available to consumers starting Oct. 20.

The initial list of stores listed in Apple’s September announcement of Apple Pay included Walgreens, Duane Reade, Macy’s, McDonald’s, Bloomingdale’s, Disney Store and Walt Disney World Resort, Sephora, Staples, Subway, and Whole Foods Market.
