Al Sharpton to Host 2014 African American Vanguard Awards on October 16


Reverend Al Sharpton, founder of the National Action Network, will host the 2014 African American Vanguard Awards reception on Thursday, October 16.

This event was created by Lord, Bush & Randolph, LLC. (LBR) to recognize African American’s who have made a positive impact on the City of Los Angeles and surrounding communities. This year LBR, in partnership with the Los Angeles Chapter (NAN-LA), will honor the achievements of LA’s most prominent and influential African Americans.

Some of the honorees that will be in attendance are Grammy nominated R&B singer-songwriter, actor, author and TV producer, Tyrese Gibson; Congress member Karen Bass, Compton Mayor, The Honorable Aja Brown, Apostle Beverly “BAM” Crawford, Pastor of Bible Enrichment Fellowship International Church, Macy’s Carol Jackson VP of Government and Public Affairs and Union Bank’s Julius Robinson, Vice President of Corporate Responsibility, to name a few. In addition, the group will be celebrating Rev. Al’s 60th birthday.

“It’s a pleasure to help recognize and honor this group of influential honorees who are all working to improve the quality of life in their community.” Says Rev. Al Sharpton, NAN President.

This event is sponsored by SEIU Local 721 and Macy’s, will be held on Thursday, October 16 at the landmark California African American Museum in Exposition Park located at 600 State Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90037 from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
