The concept of automatic car for Tesla might take some more time to arrive. According to the statement given by Tesla’s Chief Executive Officer, Elon Musk, this could happen “maybe five or six years from now,” where drivers can “literally get in the car, go to sleep, and wake up at (their) destination.”
“They will be a factor of 10 safer than a person [at the wheel] in a six-year time frame,” said Musk.
The tweet made by the CEO of the battery-electric technology leader, Tesla Motors Inc., based in Palo Alto, California, gained much speculation and raise in the company’s shares.
The tweet said “About time to unveil the D and something else,” and was posted along with a teaser image of front of a car concealed in a garage with a letter ‘D’ having timestamp of Oct 9.
Later Musk mentioned: I love the Internet. Comments had me literally ROFL. No, it wasn’t intentional. Glad I didn’t mention the other letter!
