This year’s Expositors Summit will also include a pre-conference, “Tell Your Story”: Expositional Preaching in the African-American Church. Keynoting the pre-conference will be pastors H.B. Charles Jr., Thabiti Anyabwile, and Victor Sholar. The event is in partnership with the Kentucky Baptist Convention and will take place Monday, October 27th, the day before the Expositors Summit kicks off. Here is the overview text explaining the event:

The African-American church has a rich history of faithful preaching from God’s Word. This tradition has seen preachers bring the Word to life in ways that are life-changing for their listeners, in ways that connect God’s story with their story. “Tell Your Story” will focus on that process, the process of getting the text right and getting the text across. How can expositors preach biblically faithful sermons that meaningfully connect within the African-American context? Join pastors Thabiti Anyabwile, H.B. Charles, Jr., Victor Sholar, and Kevin Smith as they provide instruction and encouragement on this topic.
