Ronnie Floyd, the Southern Baptist Convention’s new president, is now online at the convention’s http://www.sbc.net website, in addition to his ongoing blog at http://www.ronniefloyd.com.
The President’s Page includes a number of features:
— Floyd’s blog each Monday addressed to Southern Baptists. The July 14 blog, for example, is titled, “Now is the Time for Southern Baptist Churches to Prioritize Reaching, Baptizing, and Discipling Young People.”
Other columns since his June 10 election as president have called for Southern Baptists to attend next year’s SBC annual meeting in Columbus, Ohio; the need for prayer for America’s next Great Awakening; and ways in which Southern Baptists can influence America’s future.
— About Ronnie Floyd, in which the new SBC president recounts his spiritual journey, starting with his new birth at age 15 at a small church’s youth event and his upbringing by a mother and father “who loved the church and brought us up to do the same.”
Floyd also tells of his education at a Baptist college and seminary; his 37 years as a pastor, including the multi-campus Cross Church in northwest Arkansas since 1986; and his love for his wife Jeana, his two sons and six grandchildren.
