COGIC Women Hold 48th State Convention in Southern California

The 48th State Women’s Convention of Southern California First Jurisdiction Church of God in Christ begins on Thursday, July 24, through Sunday, July 27, at the Desert Springs J. W. Marriott Resort and Spa, 74855 Country Club Drive in Palm Desert. 

The theme is ‘Equipped by the Word To Minister and Witness to a Distressed and Troubled World.’  Dr. Barbara McCoo Lewis is the Assistant General Supervisor/Jurisdictional Supervisor and President of the Convention.  Bishop Joe L. Ealy is the Jurisdictional Prelate and Mrs. Kathie Humphrey is the Convention Coordinator.

“Delegates from Southern California and abroad come to receive a fresh Word from holy vessels that minister directly to the needs of the people.  It will be action packed, anointed and a great blessing to everyone that attends,” said Dr. Lewis.

“We expect a great move of God that will include healing, deliverances and live changing experiences.  Also, outstanding Workshops have been carefully selected to empower, motivate, stir your mind and each workshop will provide the necessary tools to bring about the change that you desire in your life,” she added.

The keynote speakers include Dr. Lewis, Evangelist Barbara Bryant, Superindent Althea Sims, Evangelist Joyce Rodgers,  and Evangelist Sharon Sellers.  Musical guests performing on Thursday evening include recording artist Kesha Ealy, Mrs. Carolyn Johnson White, a former contestant on Sunday’s Best, and the Mighty Gospel Layers.

On Friday, the conference will feature workshops by Mrs. Charlene Sutton Bryan, Regional Missionary Mazie Sconiers, Judge Mablean Ephriam, Missionary Dawn Patton, Missionary Mary Mayfield Smith, and Missionary Darlene Nevels.
