Death is an inevitable part of life. At one point or another, whether suddenly or expectedly, death will come knocking for someone who we love. As much as it hurts and is painful to talk about, life for those left behind must go on, the funeral must go forward, the affairs of the deceased must be settled, and other family members must be helped to adjust to their new reality.
In the pages of When Your Loved One Dies, author and pastor, Samuel W. Hale Jr., offers a practical funeral preparation guide for families to go by which seeks to lessen the frightening and often frustrating discoveries and parts of the funeral and burial process. This funeral guide is written to help family members address the sobering, yet necessary, responsibilities of carrying out the many, and often unrealized tasks involved in funeralizing a loved one. Helpful insights, cautions, instructions, and Biblical resources are given to minimize the problems and to better enable the family to adjust to the varied experiences that preparing for a funeral can bring.
When Your Loved One Dies is not only a guide for family members, but for pastors and lay people as well. Those who have been ordained to perform funerals can read this book and be given the training necessary to address the many concerns that ministering to those who are grieving entails.
