Michelle Obama thinks choosing a president shouldn’t be based on gender or race but rather how qualified the person is for the job. Girls should run the world, or at least the United States, according to first lady Michelle Obama.
After Monday’s inaugural White House Summit on Working Families, ABC’s Robin Roberts prompted the first lady to talk about whether women could fill the role of commander in chief. Obama responded that she is positive that a woman would be an appropriate fit for the job.
“This country is ready for anyone who can do the job,” Obama told Roberts. “And what we have learned is that the person who can do the job doesn’t have a particular race or gender or background or socioeconomic status. The person who should do the job is the person who is the most qualified, and I think we have some options, don’t we?”
