Police say a 26-year-old doctor was raped during a home invasion in Center City early Saturday morning.
The victim, a doctor at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania was out with friends at the Ladder 15 bar at 1528 Samsom Street.
She left the bar around 1:30 a.m. to walk to her apartment on the 1900 block of Spruce Street.
She says, she was followed by the suspect into her building and then he forced his way into her apartment.
The victim told police, she was raped numerous times by the suspect before he fled around 2:30 a.m. and she was able to call 911.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, 25-30-years-old. He was wearing black jeans and a black shirt.
The victim says she didn’t see anyone fitting his description at the bar.
Police believe the suspect followed her from the street. They say he was on a bicycle.
Investigators are checking the surveillance cameras for information.
