North Carolina Group Calls on Pastors to Pray, Partner, and Preach About Today’s Moral Issues

A North Carolina group is calling on pastors to step up to the plate when it comes to preaching about today’s issues.

Spokesman David Kistler describes it as a recruiting tour to convince pastors to join the newly formed North Carolina Pastors Network, which is a state affiliate of the American Pastors Network.

“We’re encouraging them to do three things,” which are to pray, partner, and preach, he says.

Part of the emphasis is an annual campaign by Alliance Defending Freedom to encourage pastors to preach on today’s moral issues and elections, and not fear repercussions from the IRS.

Kistler tells OneNewsNow: “We have a First Amendment to Our United States Constitution that guarantees us the right to free speech, freedom of religion, freedom of the press, freedom of assembly, freedom to petition our government if they’ve done us wrong, and have a right to those five things.”

He is challenging pastors to “step up” and address controversial issues, even to “push the envelope a little bit” in their sermons.
