Derrick Nesby, 37, allegedly had sex with the teen within the last year, authorities in Louisiana said. The man, who was also a track coach, has since been fired from H.L. Bourgeois High School in Terrebonne Parish.
An HIV-positive Louisiana teacher and track coach is behind bars after he had sex with a 16-year-old student and intentionally exposed him to the lethal virus, police say.
Derrick Nesby, 37, had only worked at H.L. Bourgeois High School about one year when the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office learned last month about the illicit affair, WWL-TV reported.
Nesby denied the allegations.
Cops busted the man, who is still listed on the school’s website as its track coach for the boys’ freshmen team, Wednesday on the school’s campus. He’d previously been questioned and released May 9 about the alleged sexual misconduct, cops told WWL-TV.
