A Houston father is in jail, accused of attacking his teenage daughter at her Quinceanera dance practice.
Aaron Aranza, 37, is charged with injury to a child under 15.
According to court documents, Aranza’s 14-year-old daughter was having Quinceanera dance practice with several friends at her grandmother’s house in 5500 block of Woodlark on April 11.
Investigators say the suspect’s daughter chose her friend, an African-American male, to be her dance partner, which angered Aranza.
Witnesses told police that Aranza then physically attacked his daughter with a belt, injuring her.
They said she was also dragged inside the residence, where she was again beaten.
Aranza left the scene before officers could arrive.
He was later arrested and is being held in the Harris County Jail on a $20,000 bond.
