A Norfolk, Va., 10th-grade honor student who had grown tired of his parents’ punishments, which included ” … taking away my iPod and stuff,” admitted in court Wednesday that he murdered both of them a week before Christmas.
According to news station WTKR, Vincent Parker, 16, told police that he attacked his mother with pepper spray, then stabbed her in the eyes and beat her with a crowbar and baseball bat “until she stopped breathing.” Medical examiners found some “25 separate smashes and stabs to Carol Parker’s neck, face and head,” the news station reports.
Vincent then waited for his father, Wayne Parker, to return home. When he arrived, Vincent stabbed him several times and then beat him with a crowbar, according to court documents seen by the news station. Though he would die from his injuries, Wayne Parker was able to tell police what happened when they arrived at the scene. Initially, Vincent tried to blame the incident on his father but later admitted to police that he killed his parents, WTKR reported.
“I just remember getting mad,” Vincent told investigators shortly after the murders, the news station reported. “It’s all from my dad. All this stuff like my dad taking away my iPod and stuff.”
Vincent was charged as an adult and pleaded guilty Wednesday to two counts of second-degree murder, according to WTKR. He could face decades in prison if he is given the maximum sentence for both murders. He will learn his sentence in November.
Vincent had no criminal record prior to the murders and was considered a good kid by those who knew him.
