VH1 and Ryan Seacrest to Do Docuseries on White Female Rappers

Ryan Seacrest is getting into the rap game. Not as a rapper, but as an executive producer of an upcoming VH1 docuseries.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the network has picked up six half-hour episodes of the show. The docuseries, titled “Girls in the Game,” will follow a group of up-and-coming white female rappers as they aspire to and struggle for fame. Seacrest will serve as executive produce for the series alongside Ryan Seacrest Productions’ outgoing CEO Adam Sher.

A formal premiere date for “Girls in the Game,” has not yet been announced.

VH1’s alignment with Seacrest arrives two years after the American Idol host was in talks to take over VH1 Soul. That deal resulted in Seacrest partnering with Mark Cuban’s HDNet to form the music-themed AXS network.
