This is the “chief of sinners,” Daniel Whyte III, president of Gospel Light Society International, reminding you of what the Bible says, that “Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners” like you and me.

When all our student days are done,
And we from school must go
Still we will honor, love and sing
Thy praises o’er and o’er.
We’ll live for thee, we’ll strive for thee,
We’ll all thy ways adore,
We’ll long for thee and toil until we reach that Golden Shore.
We’ll long for thee and toil until we reach that Golden Shore

Those words are the final stanza of the hymn of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity which was founded on the campus of Indiana University in Bloomington, IN, in 1911. Unlike some fraternities, members of Kappa Alpha Psi are members for life. And when a member dies, the fraternity refers to them as having passed to “the chapter invisible.” In a sense, it means that that person is still alive even though he cannot be seen. He still exists; he is simply invisible someplace else

In reality, the death of all people can be described as passing from this “chapter” to “the chapter invisible” — a place where we still exist and where we are just as real, but a place where people in this world cannot see us.

The Bible says, “no man hath seen God at any time.” Because God is spirit, He is invisible. He is completely real, but we cannot see Him as we see each other. As 1 Timothy 1:17 says, “Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever.” The Bible also says that God has created all things — those that can be seen and those that cannot be seen. Colossians 1:16 says, “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:”

When we die, we pass from the physical realm into the spiritual realm — the chapter invisible. We still exist, but we are no longer tied to the physical world. Our souls then travel to face God where we will give an account of all that we have done in our physical lives. The bible says in the book of Hebrews It is appointed unto men once to die and then the judgement. Also in the book of Romans the Bible says 14:12 says, “So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.” After this appointment with God, you will be ushered into one of two places to spend eternity.

What you do in this life will determine whether you have a happy eternity. In this life, you have the opportunity to choose whether or not you will go to Heaven or Hell. And, just as a man can join the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity and be a member for life, you can join the fraternity of the redeemed and Heaven-bound and be a member for life and eternity. How can you be sure that you are going to Heaven. You can be sure by accepting Jesus Christ’s sacrifice for you on the cross and believing in Him for Your salvation. You will not receive the gift of eternal life and a home in Heaven unless you turn your life over to Him now. You will not know for sure that you are going to Heaven unless you open your heart to Christ and He is living inside of you.

Do you want to make this decision today? Do you want to join the fraternity of the redeemed and Heaven bound so that when you pass to “the chapter invisible,” you can be confident about how and where you will spend eternity. If so, allow me to share with you three simple steps that you need to take to give your life to Christ and be given a home in Heaven.

First, admit that your sins have separated you from God. Our sins are the bad or wrong things that we do. I can tell you that we all are sinners repeatedly, but it won’t do any good unless you agree with God about your sinfulness and admit your need for forgiveness. 1 John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, he [God] is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Second, realize that God loves you, and believe that his sinless Son, Jesus Christ, died for your sins — taking the punishment that you deserve. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Third, accept Jesus Christ’s invitation to be pardoned of your sins and receive eternal life by inviting Jesus Christ into your life by faith as your Savior from sin’s consequences. Romans 10:9 & 13 says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

If you trust Jesus Christ for salvation, you will be saved from sin, spiritual death, and hell, and you will be guaranteed a place in Heaven. If this is your heart’s desire, you can pray a short prayer to let God know about your decision:

Holy Father God, I realize that I am a sinner and that I have done some bad things in my life. I am sorry for my sins, and I want to turn from my sins. For Jesus Christ sake, please forgive me of my sins. I now believe with all of my heart that Jesus Christ died for me, was buried, and rose again. I want to trust Jesus as my Savior and follow Him as Lord from this day forward. Lord Jesus, please come into my heart and save my soul and change my life today. Amen.

If you just trusted Jesus Christ as your Saviour, and you prayed that prayer and meant it from your heart, I declare to you that based upon the Word of God, you are now saved from Hell and you are on your way to Heaven. Welcome to the family of God and congratulations on doing the most important thing in life and that is receiving Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour. For more information to help you grow in your new found faith in Christ, go to Gospel Light and read “What To Do After You Enter Through the Door”. Jesus Christ said in John 10:9, “I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.”

Believe by faith. Share the faith. And keep the faith! God Bless You!
