Sherri Shepherd Has Filed Her Own Divorce Papers; Custody Issue Already Brewing Over Unborn Child

For Sherri Shepherd and Lamar Sally, a breakup may turn into a battleground: “The View” host has filed her own divorce papers with a New Jersey court, and there appears to be a custody issue brewing, even though the couple have no children yet.

Word emerged Friday that Sally had filed documents ending their marriage of nearly three years. Turns out he’d actually filed for legal separation, which will be converted to a petition for divorce once he hits California’s three-month residency requirement, TMZ said Monday.

In her subsequent filing, Shepherd requested that their prenuptial agreement be enforced but made no mention of a child she and Sally are supposedly having together via a surrogate, UPI reported.

In contrast, Sally reportedly told the court he wants full legal and physical custody of the unborn baby boy, allowing Shepherd only visitation, and asked that the prenup be voided because of fraud.

The couple, introduced in 2009 by Shepherd pal Niecy Nash’s then-fiance and now-husband, Jay Tucker, got married in August 2011.

The comic and TV host has remained mum about the split on “The View” but on Monday afternoon retweeted a quote she’d been flagged to: “I know that for me I have to get out of the way and let God take control,” it said.
