A public relations executive at CNN confirmed reports that the news network is making as many as 50 journalists reapply for new positions as part of an attempt to unify digital and broadcast operations. CNN is not discussing the move publicly.

The move, reported by Variety and TheWrap, will not change the total number of employees at CNN.
