Police are searching for a criminal mischief suspect after the Epiphany Baptist Church was vandalized early Wednesday morning.

Officers arrived at the church just before 7 a.m. and found broken stained glass windows and spray painted messages on the exterior of the church that said “(expletive) BK” and “666,” according to a Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office incident report.

Chunks of broken asphalt were also found on the ground near the church, as well as inside the church near the broken windows.

Upon review of surveillance footage, the suspect was seen arriving at the church around 3:45 a.m. He rode up to the church’s north door, facing Phyllis Street, on a beach cruiser bicycle with a milk crate attached to the front, the report detailed.

The suspect is described in the report as a black male in his early to mid-20s with a goatee and was wearing a lighter colored hooded jacket, a black T-shirt with a graphic on the front, blue jeans and a dark colored baseball cap with a white front worn backwards.
