The Christian Council of Ghana has asked churches not to commercialise the gospel during the Easter period.

It says some men of God may be tempted to manipulate the gospel for personal gains, but they should remember Christ is the reason for the season.

Speaking to Radio Ghana on the Council’s Easter message, the General Secretary, Reverend Dr Kwabena Opuni Frimpong, said the death and resurrection of Christ should be the focus of the celebrations.

He asked Christians to place premium on the spiritual values of the season, saying virtues such as sacrifice, obedience and tolerance must permeate throughout.
