The Islamic extremist group Boko Haram is being blamed for kidnapping about 100 girls from a school in northeastern Nigeria Tuesday.
Just after midnight, gunmen killed a soldier and a police officer guarding a school in Chibok and abducted the teenage girls. According to an anonymous official, some of the girls escaped by jumping off the open truck as it was moving slowly along a road.
The kidnapping happened a day after suspected Boko Haram insurgents bombed a bus station, killing 75.
