Karyn Washington, 22-Year-Old Blogger and Founder of For Brown Girls, Commits Suicide

Founder of the website For Brown Girls, Karyn Washington and mind behind the project, #DarkSkinRedLip, has reportedly committed suicide.

Washington launched her website in order to celebrate the beauty of black women who don’t always feel the love out here, and pushed the project #DarkSkinRedLip to encourage black women of all shades to embrace wearing red lipstick after rapper A$AP Rocky said that women of darker complexions shouldn’t rock it.

In the midst of nurturing and encouraging brown girls through her social media accounts as well as her site, internally the blogger struggled with the death of her mother and apparently battled depression.
