Greg Christie, Apple’s ‘Human Interface’ Leader, Resigns; Jony Ive Takes More Control of Design Team

Apple today confirmed an executive shakeup at One Infinite Loop, which will shift more power to senior vice president of design, Jony Ive.

According to reports, the company’s “human interface” leader Greg Christie announced his retirement, leaving his software design team to report to Ive (pictured) instead of Craig Federighi.

Federighi temporarily took over the iOS and OS X software teams following Scott Forstall’s exit last year.

“Greg has been planning to retire later this year after nearly 20 years at Apple,” a spokesman told the Wall Street Journal. “He has made vital contributions to Apple products across the board, and built a world-class human interface team which has worked closely with [Ive] for many years.”
