Rev. Bryan L. Carter, Senior Pastor at Concord Church of Dallas, is the keynote speaker for this year’s Pastor Appreciation Luncheon at Methodist Charlton Medical Center on April 10. Each year Methodist Charlton holds this inspiring and elegant event to honor and show appreciation to pastors and ministry leaders for their dedicated service and commitment to patients, families, and the community. In addition to Pastor Carter, other event participants include Pastor Dr. Renee Fowler Hornbuckle, Senior Pastor, Destiny Pointe Christian Center in Arlington; Todrick Johnson, CEO, Epitome Magazine; Lancaster Mayor Marcus Knight; National Recording Artist Kertrina Dauway “aka” Lady Diamond; and Chris Howell with Chris Howell Communications, LLC as emcee. Previous guest speakers for this event include James Robison, Dr. Rickie G. Rush, Pastor Tony Evans, Dr. Clara M. Reed, district superintendent, North Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church; and Bishop T. D. Jakes.
Rev. Carter has served as Senior Pastor of Concord Church since October 2003. He succeeded the church’s founder, the late Dr. E. K. Bailey. God has given Rev. Carter a vibrant vision for Concord to be a church that makes a difference. Concord’s mission statement is: ‘To know God and to make him known to others’. Rev. Carter has received numerous honors for the impact of his leadership and Concord in the Dallas community. His diverse teaching and preaching includes: E. K Bailey International Expository Preaching Conference, Southern Baptist Convention of Texas Pastors’ Conference, Urban Alternative Church Development Conference, Dallas Theological Seminary chapel services, City of Dallas MLK Celebration Services, Mighty Men of Valor National Men’s Conference, a featured guest on Family Life Today with Dr. Dennis Rainey, Moody Broadcasting, and a daily devotional broadcast on KRNB 105.7 in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
He has been granted the opportunity to share God’s Word with many churches and organizations locally and nationally. He also has ministered internationally in Jamaica and Kenya. In 2009, he was offered the opportunity to host an annual international conference on expository preaching in Dallas that serves over 700 attendees. Rev. Carter is an author of a 28-day devotional book/guide entitled, Great Expectations.
Building on a great foundation, God has continued to nurture and develop Rev. Carter’s leadership and the ministries of Concord by providing over 3,000 new members to the church in the last six years. Twenty percent of their growth has been new believers.
