B. Smith’s, a leading African American restaurant, is closing down its 20 year old Union Station location near Capitol Hill and plans to re-open new restaurants in Washington D.C. and other markets across the country, according to an announcement Sept. 13 on the popular bistro’s web site.
The popular Union Station eatery shut down after routine operation Sept. 13.
“We are looking forward to new and exciting things that we can’t wait to announce!” says Barbara “B.” Smith, founder and CEO of B. Smith’s Enterprises.
Restaurant sites in New York City and on Long Island at Sag Harbor will remain open during the restaurant’s corporate re-configuration, the company announced.
In operation for 25 years, the company that is the leader among restaurants selling Contemporary Southern Cuisine is engaged in marketing the B. Smith’s Enterprises brand beyond its restaurants and into the retail arena with its signature products. B. Smith with Style Home Collection and other home goods are prominently sold at Bed Bath & Beyond stores throughout the U.S.
