Sen. Marco Rubio says he’ll decide around this time next year whether to run for president or another Senate term or do something else.
The Florida Republican, a potential 2016 White House contender, discussed his timetable with radio host Hugh Hewitt. Rubio’s comments Wednesday followed similar remarks he made to Reuters.
“I’ll have to make a decision about something,” Rubio told Hewitt. “I’ll either have to run for re-election or not run for anything or run for another office.”
Rubio noted that Florida does not allow him to seek the presidency and another Senate term at the same time, as Connecticut, Wisconsin, Texas and other states do. “That’s the right law,” Rubio said about the Florida approach.
