Gone with the Wind is making a comeback.
Simon & Schuster has announced a prequel to the iconic 1936 novel by Margaret Mitchell. Titled Ruth’s Journey, the book will focus on the backstory of Scarlett O’Hara’s servant, Mammy.
Hattie McDaniel made history as the first Black performer to win an Academy Award for her portrayal of Mammy in the 1939 movie version of Gone with the Wind.
