Iranian Authorities Admit Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani Faces Only Apostasy Charge

Iranian authorities have admitted for the first time that their case against Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani involves his Christian faith and religious activity.

A growing number of countries are supporting the pastor’s case, including the United States, Brazil, Norway, Germany, and Australia.
The European Union also says it’s following Nadarkhani’s case closely.
As international pressure grows against the Islamic regime, Iran has claimed the pastor was facing three charges. However, court legal documents show only one charge — apostasy.
Despite its admission, Iran has continued to deny that apostasy is the only charged levied against Nadarkhani, a charge on which he was found guilty and currently faces execution by the Islamic Republic.
The United Nations’ Human Rights Council has called on Iran to release Nadarkhani.
