Mardel Christian & Education President Jason Green is to leave the company next month after eight years leading the regional chain. He is to become president of Baptist Medical & Dental Mission International (BMDMI) based in Hattiesburg, Miss.
At 41, Green has been with Mardel–with 35 stores in seven states–for 14 years. Previously with Hobby Lobby and Wal-Mart, Green became Mardel’s vice president of operations 11 years ago and was appointed president in 2004.
In addition to leading Mardel, Green served on the board of CBA for a year and was involved in the development of the trade association’s CROSS:SCAN sales data initiative and in industry-wide discussions on e-books and print-on-demand.
“I love bookselling, and the CBA industry in particular,” Green said. “I have been quite vocal about the importance of the Christian bookstore channel to the sales of Christian products and will always feel that way.”
