A California pro-“gay” group is pursuing an initiative to overturn Proposition 8, but one pro-family activist says it will most likely fail if it’s put before voters.

The Los Angeles-based group Love, Honor, Cherish received clearance for signature gathering and has until May 14 to collect over 807,000 signatures to qualify an initiative to repeal Proposition 8 on the 2012 statewide ballot. California voters passed Proposition 8 in November 2008, and the measure is currently being debated in the courts. Peter LaBarbera, president of Americans For Truth About Homosexuality, tells OneNewsNow that he does not believe the measure will succeed if placed on the ballot.
“I do think that many gay activists would prefer to have their agenda achieved through the courts, not through the people, because they usually lose when it’s put on a ballot,” LaBarbera contends.
