Since Pastor Zachery Tims’ death on August 12, speculation circulated around the cause of death. New York Medical Examiner’s office said toxicology results were expected to take three to four weeks. An autopsy performed was inconclusive.
A representative from New York’s Chief Medical Examiner’s office revealed to The Christian Post they are “very close” to the results of Tims’ toxicology tests.
The Director of Public Affairs at the New York Chief Medical Examiner’s office said more information would be available by Tuesday or Wednesday. (September 27-28, 2011)
Drugs were suspected after a white powdery substance, believed to be narcotics were found in his pocket. Investigators were looking into the possibility Tims might not have been alone in his hotel room. NYPD were reviewing surveillance video, phone, and hotel records on whether the pastor was in communications with anyone during his stay in New York City.
At 42, Zachery Tims was a man with a mission. His love for God spilled over onto the hearts of his congregation. A man with an inspiring message, living in the hope of Christ, his legacy lives on.
