Obama Orders Another $30 Million in Drought Relief

4798President Obama directed the Agriculture Department today to authorize another $30 million in drought relief.

The money will be used “to get more water to livestock and restore land impacted by drought,” Obama told reporters.
Speaking before a meeting of the White House Rural Council, composed of officials from throughout the government, Obama also cited a series of emergency loan programs for struggling farmers.
“This has been an all-hands-on-deck response,” he said. “But obviously we’ve got a lot more to do.”
Obama added: “My instructions to all the agencies is we need to keep working and to see if there is more that we can do.”
